300 Explored Images
Oct 9th marked my 300th image to make Explore.
The whole explore thing baffles me. Image #299 (in the list of links under my image) was the first photoshop contest I ever entered online. I didn't even have Photoshop when I did it & the edit is dreadful...lol. I don't know how that one ever made it there. But at least I can say I have improved since then. :)

I've been published!
This is my first book cover
On March 5th, 2010 a lovely lady by the name of Shawna Stewart contacted me on Flickr via Flickr mail. Shawna had seen my work on Flickr & asked if I would be interested in having one of my images as the cover for her book. I responded & this is the final outcome. My original image was way too small for print resolution, so I re-designed the image especially for Shawna.
The book is a Fantasy, Horror, Thriller, Love story.
The book can be purchased here for anyone who is interested.
Thank you to these wonderful people for sharing their work via creative commons to make this image possible

One of my contacts requested some textures similar to one I had done.
These are the results. Something a little different
~ My Handmade texture available for use in your artworks with creative commons license ~
~ Do not distribute as they are in ANY WAY ~
~ Please credit me if used with a link back to this texture or my photostream ~
~ I would love to see what you have done, if you would like to put a small size sample in my comments at my Flickr page - or leave a link in the comments section here. Thanks & have fun ~

I came across a Russian web site distributing my textures & images without my permission.
The Russian site had appeared to have removed my content, but there were still some of my textures there today
allday.ru/index.php?newsid=285295
There were also many of Flickr artists copyright works on there as well.
***Please ensure you have good internet security before going to the site****

Some of my favourite textures....
These are some of my favourite textures.
You can find them in my texture set here
This one was a total fluke, a more natural texture of mine.....a snapshot while I was going through the drive through car wash. I have been back many times since this one & haven't been able to get anything like this again. This is straight out of my camera.
This one is a texture I have created, using many layers including some paper textures
This one is a more natural texture as well, some rust taken on an old fort at Shepherds Hill Fort, Newcastle (NSW, Australia)& a few colour & curve adjustments
I love the colour turquoise & all shades...aqua, jade. This one is created from a base paper texture. I had just watched Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End, hence the name. I often get names for my textures from movies.

This is an edit I did for our Textures Only Competition ~ Week #85.
I have had a Medusa edit in my head for a while, I spent about 2 hours one day searching through creative commons images of snakes to find ones that I thought would fit into the edit.
When I saw the source image of the lady for our comp this week, I thought it would be a good image to try my ideas on. It turned out differently than I imagined, but often the finished result of an image is much different than your initial vision.

This is one of the images from my Alice In Wonderland set. I went to see the movie with my Grandson yesterday. I have been eagerly awaiting it's release for what seems like forever.
I must admit I had very, very high expectations & not sure if it quite lived up to what I had imagined......but still, in saying that I loved it & would see it again in a heartbeat.
